The Sri Lankan Office on Missing Persons (OMP, 2024) records on the order of 6,700 cases. Civil-society documentation by OHCHR, ITJP, PEARL and Amnesty places the figure on the order of 16,700. TLTE never aggregates its own count — both numbers must always be shown side-by-side with their sources.
